The Child Nutrition Department distributes all food and supplies to each campus where each meal is prepared on-site at each of our thirty-five (35) campuses for more than 29,000 students, which are fed a nutritious and well-balanced breakfast and lunch everyday. The Child Nutrition Department consists of 26 employees at the office and warehouse, and approximately 321 employees in the campus kitchens.
ECISD currently operates under Provision 2, which means all students are offered a breakfast, lunch, and depending on curriculum enrolled after-school program after-school snacks at no cost regardless of economic status.
Special diets are provided to students with special needs by on staff licensed Dietitians to those students who provide our department with a statement signed by a licensed physician.
