ATHLETIC MISSION STATEMENT

The ultimate mission of the Edinburg CISD Athletics Department is to serve as an integral part of the total educational program by insuring and enhancing the quality of life for our youth. We believe that athletics provides one of the finest avenues in which today's young athletes can become constructive and positive members of society. By stressing fair play, sportsmanship and teamwork our programs will inevitably make our student athletes understand the fact that hard work leads to success.

We believe that participation in athletics will also assist our student athletes and help them realize their full potential relative to their growth and development. Our student athletes will be provided with a varied and diversified program designed to instill competitiveness, skill, positive characteristics and sound values to be productive in an ever changing society.

In order to accomplish this mission we must provide guidance that will help achieve a sound mind and strong body through academic, physical, recreational, and cultural programs provided by ECISD. This is our pledge and desire for every student/athlete in our district.

Sincerely,
Rogelio R. Garza, Director of Athletics
