Skyward Teacher Gradebook Management and Procedures
 
A. Skyward Teacher Gradebook Guide:
The Skyward Teacher Gradebook Guide provides step by step instructions on the management of Skyward Gradebook for teachers. Contact your campus Secondary School Registrar, Elementary School PEIMS Clerk, or the ECISD Data Programming Department x2325 for clarification on any procedures.
 
B. Grade Change Request Procedures:
The Grade Change Request Form will be used by teachers when a grade change is required for a closed grading period. Select and download the Steps to Complete the Online Grade Change Request Process. The Grade Change Request Form will require the signature and approval from the Campus Principal. Submit the signed Grade Change Request Form to the Secondary School Registrar or Elementary PEIMS Clerk.
Below are the steps required:
Step 1: Download the Grade Change Request Form or pick up a paper copy of the form from the Secondary Registrar or Elementary PEIMS Clerk.p
Step 2: Fill out the Grade Change Request Form
Step 3: Log in to the Skyward Teacher Gradebook and follow the Steps to Complete the Online Grade Change Request Process.
Step 4: Submit the paper copy of the Grade Change Request Form signed by the campus principal to the Secondary Registrar or Elementary PEIMS Clerk.
Step 5: Secondary Registrar or Elementary PEIMS Clerk will log in to Skyward and confirm the grade change request from the teacher. The grade change will be completed once the Registrar or PEIMS Clerk completes this process in Skyward.
 
NOTE: Grade Change Requests will only be accepted for Six Weeks Grading Periods. Online Grade Change Requests are not required for Progress Reporting Periods.
 
C. Entering Comment Codes for Progress and Report Cards:
The Entering Comment codes for Progress Reports and Report Cards guide provides step by step instructions on entering comment codes at the end of each grading period. The comment code legend is available in Skyward as a reference when entering comment codes. See the instructions and the location on the commend code legends in this PDF link.
 
D. Entering Semester Exam Grades:
Secondary teachers are required to administer a semester exam or exempt students from the semester exam. The Semester Exam Quick Guide provides step by step instructions for teachers to enter semester exam grades or indicate that a student is exempt from a semester exam grade in the Skyward Gradebook. Teachers will confirm semester exemptions policy with the campus administration prior to exempting students from the semester exam.
 
E. How to Read the Grade Proof Sheet Reports:
Secondary School Registrars and Elementary PEIMS Clerks will provide teachers with a Grade Proof Sheet Report periodically for review. Use the How to Read the Grade Proof Sheet Report from the Registrar guide as a reference when reviewing the document from the Registrar.
 
F. How to Read the Grade Difference Reports:
Secondary School Registrars and Elementary School PEIMS Clerks will provide teachers with a Grade Difference Report indicating a difference between the Skyward Teacher Gradebook and the Skyward Registrar Grade screen. A grade difference may occur when grades provided by the registrar or PEIMS Clerks for New Students have not been entered and accepted by the teacher.
