Edinburg Rotary Honors ECISD Early College High School Program

EDINBURG – The Edinburg Rotary Club recently honored the top students from the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District's Early College High School Program.

"Thank you to the Edinburg Rotary Club for supporting and recognizing our Early College High School students," said ECISD Advanced Academics & Guidance Services Director Sylvia Ledesma. "Congratulations to our students for all of your hard work and dedication to your education. We are extremely proud of you."

The Edinburg CISD Early College High School Program allows students to earn up to 60 college hours and an associate degree while enrolled in high school.

"Edinburg CISD is proud to have all of its four high schools designated as Early College High School by the Texas Education Agency," said Ledesma. "South Texas College is one of our main partners that affords our students the opportunity to attend college while earning their high school diploma."

The students' recognition is part of the Edinburg Rotary's Student of the Month Program held during the community service organization's luncheon meeting at the Echo Hotel.

Via a video presentation, Rotarians heard from the students, who spoke about their experiences in the Early College High School Program, their achievements, and their plans after graduation.

"It is important for our students and families because Edinburg CISD, through the Early College High School Program, is able to support them 100-percent financially," Ledesma said.
