High-Quality FREE Full Day PK3 & PK4
Edinburg CISD offers a high-quality FREE full day PK3 & PK4 program at all 31 ECISD elementary schools. Our Pre-K program employs 100% highly qualified, certified teachers who hold a bachelor's and/or master's degree, as well as an instructional staff member in every classroom.
ECISD's PK3 and PK4 programs utilize a TEA approved curriculum from the Commissioner's list that meets 100% of the 2022 Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines. Our curriculum prepares every child to be kinder ready by providing instruction focused on each child's academic, physical, and social-emotional development. Our students engage in interactive and hands-on activities that allow students to reach their full potential. 
All students qualify for PK3 and PK4 programs as long as they are 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1st of the school year in which they will be attending. 
In addition to our high-quality PK3 and PK4 programs, our students also benefit  from the following services at all 31 elementary campuses:
  • Free Transportation: All 31 campuses offer free bus transportation to and from school to all residents zoned to them. 
  • There is a Registered Nurse at every campus to ensure the safety and well-being of each student. All PK4 students receive hearing & vision screenings during the Spring semester. These screenings are optional for PK3 students as well.
  • There is a Sworn Texas Peace Officer in each elementary school. Their primary goal is to ensure the safety of all students, staff and visitors in each of our Edinburg CISD campuses. Our SROs also work with our campus administration to conduct presentations and training to students such as Stop the Bleed and Drug Prevention presentations. In the event of an emergency, our SROs are first responders, and their immediate response ensures that any and all situations are attended to in a timely manner to ensure the continued safety of our ECISD community.
  • FREE nutritious and well-balanced breakfast and lunch meals are provided daily at all schools.
