High-Quality FREE Full Day Pre-K 3 & 4 for ALL
Edinburg CISD offers a high-quality FREE full day Pre-K 3 & Pre-K 4 program at all 31 ECISD elementary schools. Our Pre-K program employs 100% highly qualified, certified teachers who hold a bachelor's and/or master's degree, as well as an instructional staff member in every classroom.
ECISD's Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 programs utilize a TEA approved curriculum from the Commissioner's list that meets 100% of the 2015 Pre-K 4 guidelines and Pre-K 3 development outcomes. Our curriculum prepares every child to be kinder ready by providing instruction focused on each child's academic, physical, and social-emotional development. Our students engage in interactive and hands-on activities that allow students to reach their full potential. 
All students qualify for Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 programs as longs as they are 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1st of the school year in which they will be attending. 
In addition to our high-quality Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 programs, our students also benefit  from the following services at all 31 elementary campuses:
  • High-quality and engaging After-School programs: All Pre-K 3 & 4 students have the option of participating in their campus' after-school program. This program includes various engaging, instructional activities which allow students to build on the instruction they receive through the regular school day. These programs begin after the school day and end at 5:00 p.m.
  • Free Transportation: All 31 campuses offer free bus transportation to and from school to all residents zoned to them. This includes students who attend regular, full day Pre-K program as well as those students who choose to stay and participate in the after-school programs.
  • There is a Registered Nurse at every campus to ensure the safety and well-being of each student. All Pre-K 4 students receive hearing & vision screenings during the Spring semester. These screenings are optional for Pre-K 3 students as well.
