Edinburg CISD ESSER PUBLIC INFORMATION

ESSER Grant Information
 

The U.S. Congress, in response to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which was signed into law on Friday, March 27, 2020. This initial relief package provided Edinburg CISD with $13,130,897 and is often referred to as ESSER I or in more common terms, the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund.  On December 27, 2020, a second bill was passed called the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSA) or ESSER II.  The ESSER II grant provided ECISD with an additional $56,593,857.  Then on March 11, 2021, the U.S. Congress passed the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act or ESSER III.  This third federal stimulus program provided an additional $127,142,826 to Edinburg CISD for a total of all three grants of $196,867,580.
