Edinburg CISD School Resource Officer Bureau

The Edinburg CISD School Resource Officer (SRO) Bureau is the largest bureau within the Edinburg CISD Police Department.

This bureau is composed of sworn Texas Peace Officers and Security Officers strategically assigned throughout our district, including:

• High Schools

• Middle Schools

• Elementary Schools

• Alternative Campuses

• Truancy Prevention Assignments

Each officer plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure learning environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

The primary mission of every School Resource Officer is to ensure the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors at all Edinburg CISD campuses.

In addition to their daily safety responsibilities, our SROs actively collaborate with campus administrators to conduct student presentations and trainings, including:

• Stop the Bleed

• Drug Prevention Programs

• Vaping Awareness and Prevention

In the event of an emergency, both Texas Peace Officers and Security Officers serve as first responders, providing immediate and professional response to ensure every situation is addressed quickly and effectively. Their presence reinforces our unwavering commitment to the safety and security of the ECISD community.
