Training Division

The Edinburg CISD Police Department Training Division is composed of highly skilled and certified police officers who have earned their Police Instructor and/or Advanced Police Instructor certifications through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).

 

Our instructors deliver essential training courses not only to Edinburg CISD Police Officers but also to officers from partner law enforcement agencies in the surrounding areas. The courses offered by our Training Division include, but are not limited to:

 

  • TCOLE-mandated training courses

  • TCOLE certificate courses

  • School-Based Law Enforcement Officer Training

  • Stop the Bleed / Bleeding Control Training

  • CPR/AED Certification Training

  • Firearms Training & Weapon Familiarization

  • Defensive Tactics Training

  • Less-than-Lethal Weapons Training

  • Active Threat / Active Shooter Response (including ALERRT courses)

  • Crossing Guard Training

  • ALERRT Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) Training

  • Department-Specific Policy & Procedure Training

 

Through the Training Division, the Edinburg CISD Police Department is committed to equipping its officers with the knowledge, skills, and training necessary to effectively serve and protect the students, staff, and visitors across all district campuses.
